  • Thanks. It seems pretty obvious that most folks prefer Microspikes. On the plus side for Stableicers I think they are more stable when walking on roads or pavement such as shoveling or snowblowing as one person mentioned. Also, while you can lose the little cleats, you can replace them. I have worn down my first set of microspikes and had to replace them. If you do use Stableicers you should reset the cleats with a screwdriver after every hike. I found when doing that I almost never lost them. Don't force it though or you will strip the rubber. I do know that some fuel companies issue Stableicers to their men with bronze cleats so they won't spark.
