Very cool!
Next weekend works better for me too. Woodhull is a peak I haven't done yet.
Well after 30 plus years of hiking these mountains, and reading Alan's Catskill 67 book, I finally made it to this remote and unspoiled area. The Wildcats. Peakbagr, RobS, a group from Long Island...
Wow, great ending!
Nice report and pics. You definitely had the right man leading this hike! Glad you had a great time.

Wow Joe, sounds like April Fool's Day came a little early. Just when you figure you have been through it all Mother Nature does it again! Thanks for the great report.

Catskills: Ticeteneyck or is it Ticetonyk?
Well there has been some debate in the past on this peak and it's spelling. But there will be little debate about the views of this lesser known mountain....
Feeling pretty good Scott. Plan on hiking tomorrow! (hope its not too soon)
I am also just getting over the flu. Terrible. Never got the shot before in my life and the last time I was sick was Christmas day 1987!... I am getting the shot next year.
Thanks Alan. We'll talk for sure, and I missed the Elk in Colorado this time too!

Thanks Audrey, all sounds good. I am not exactly the sun and fun type so I am looking forward to a great fall trip.
Yep you are right. I was in a hurry posting. We will be in the Mesa area but we plan to do some driving too. Maybe the Grand Canyon with some snow?
Hey everyone. Looking to do some hikes in Arizona probably late October or early November. Visiting relatives but I will definitely be sneaking away and heading for the trails with my pack and...
Great trip and pics. That's the way to do it! Look forward to more details.
What in Sam Hill is in the water down thar?!
An old timer I worked with for years was a veteran from WWII. He told of stories from the war when ever there was a cut hand or something the commander would say "piss on it"! When we had any kind of...
Ah yes, what a great guidebook! Alan's knowledge of the Catskills and sense of humor are totally evident and spread throughout this enjoyable read. He points us in the direction of so many beautiful...
I was on Fall River Road this past September with a Nissan Versa 2 wheel drive. No problem at all. That is really some drive. Like hiking with your car. Very cool! We got a very early start, drove...
Have a great time, and be sure to post reports with plenty of pics!
All very true Doug. We stayed just outside (a mile maybe) the Fall River entrance west of Estes Park to avoid traffic. I didn't find the traffic in town much of a problem at all as I was warned about...
Looks like a great day. Excellent report and pics.
We like the Estes Park area of the park but that's where I've been mostly. Hallet and Flattop are great hikes with many others from that side of the park. If you can wait until September the Elk are...
Great pics and report. I was up there the first summer they let hikers back after the eruption. Amazing the amount of damage to the landscape. I've seen that it is coming back... slowly.
Thanks guys for the info!
Hello all. I know we are all hikers and campers here but I'm wondering if anyone has stayed in the Estes Park, CO area recently with a non hiking/camping wife? Looking to bring The Mrs out there to...
