I just received word that Pepper accompanied by his faithful companion John Sobetzer has just become the first canine to complete the calendar day grid. The completion took place this weekend on the Kinsmans and according to John it was ice, ice, ice.

John tells me also that there has been another new canine winter finisher: Cole, along with his companion Alton Eckel. This was a SSW finish. Congratulations to them both.

John also mentioned that Hannah along with her companion Sarah Permalutter has another winter finish. Congratulations to them also.

More details along with some pictures will follow.

If anyone knows of any other finishers please let me know. Thanks.

I believe there is another finisher this winter: Esther (with Craig Kelleher) from North Hampton, NH. I saw them at the AMC Awards canine presentation.

I think he is on vftt (don't know his user name) but hadn't heard about canine winter NH48 recognition. He is defnitely interested.

There is a patch for winter canine finishers. If you have any contact with him and he is a VFTT member please have him either post on this thread or PM me.. Or if anyone can give me his user name I'll get in touch with him. Thanks.

Yes, my Ella wears her patch with pride. She is #6 on the list.moosilauke.jpg

I reached Craig by phone and he confirmed that his Bernese Mountain Dog Esther did finish the winter list this winter. He is not signed up for vftt, but he will email me a photo of Esther within a week or so and I will post for him.

Esther finished March 6, 2016 on Eisenhower. Thanks-
winnie (Donna Dearborn)

Here is 4 year old Bernese Mountain dog, Esther, who finished her winter NH48 on March 6 (with Craig Kelleher) Esther on Garfield.jpgEsther on S Twin.jpg

I just heard from John Sobetzer that Pemi Innes who completed his first winter 48 on March 15, 2013 has, as of today, completed the grid and is the third dog to complete the grid after John's dog Pepper and Heather's Kali. Congratulations to Pemi, well done.

Pepper along with his faithful companion John Sobetzer just keep rolling along. Pepper was to my knowledge the first dog to finish the grid then the first redliner. He now to my knowledge is the first dog to finish the 1k 4k. That is, Pepper has climbed 1000 four thousand footers. They may well have done some peaks more than others I don't really know, but that comes out roughly to 20 times a peak. Do I hear a WOW???!!! If ever there was a dog deserving of a bronze plaque it's Pepper. Huge congratulations to both of you. More than one person has told John that he needs to write a book. How about it John?
