Trail Conditions: Ammo trail is pretty beatup from the wonderful barebooters. Everything is well packed out but lots of deeper boot prints. Gets worse as you get higher. Above treeline everything is fairly consolidated with various patches of harder ice or powder. Jewell trail is in great shape and is well packed out. (As of my decent it was mostly snowshoe travel and easy going.) Who knows what came after me though. About 4 blowdowns but not too bad to get over.
Weather was good today. In and out of the clouds higher up but not too cold. Lighter wind.
Equipment: Worse MSR's from start to finish. A few spots up high were a little tough with snowshoes but not impossible. Didn't need any face protection or puffy jacket above treeline. Worse glacier glasses and light gloves.
Dog Equipment: Mushers Secret worked great on the paws. Softshell was plenty warm enough. Brought lots of water and treats.
A great day to be out. Especially with the wind coming Sunday.
