Great week in Baxter to finish, starting with Katahdin, Hamlin then N. Brother, with Laurie and crew! More later.

WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Congratulations, Tom and Laurie! What a place to finish! Looking forward to reading the trip report and maybe seeing some photos. Any idea on the car mileage it took?! Bravo, bravo, bravo!
Lucky Laura

3/10 - We walked into Roaring Brook campground from Abol Bridge. 1000' of elevation gain over 12 miles on snomo trails.

3/11 - We walked up to Chimney Pond, and dropped our gear (we all used pulks), and since the weather was favorable, we made a run for the peaks. The Saddle trail was mostly hard packed snow, but steep! It turned from sunny and HOT to windy and cool. There was an undercast for quite a while. We did Katahdin first then Hamlin, and down the Ridge trail. 4500' of elevation gain over 10 miles.

3/12 - We celebrated while it rained. Some folks walked out to the cars and rejoined us later.

3/13 - We walked back down to Roaring Brook. More people walked out to civilization. More celebrations! :D

3/14 - We walked back to Abol Bridge and slept in Millinocket. The butt sliding in a pulk was incredible! :D I think I broke the park speed limit.

3/15 - We walked into Daicey Pond, 10 miles on snomo trails, about 1000' of elevation.

3/16 - We walked 4 miles on the road to the trailhead for North Brother. Then we hit the trail. The trail was mostly hard packed. After all that walking we were pretty tired, but we plodded on and up the trail that has three steep sections. Eventually we were at the top! It was windy but just below the top we found shelter and had a great celebration.

3/17 - We walked and slid out to the cars. Now it was official! W115!

We figured we walked about 75 miles and did over 10,000' of elevation!

Thanks to John G. for being the group photographer! Thanks to Big and Slow, Poop Smith, SoloJoe, Paula, JayH, ManBearPig, and Kerry for going along! It was a great team!

Special thanks and love to my wonderful wife Laurie!

Congrats again you two and as Swanson said, welcome to the club! I wonder if any others will (or have) finish/ed this year. The six of us New Yorkers (well I am still at heart) is a lot, probably the most people to finish the W111 in the same year. We should all party..... :)

Going to the 46er winter dinner by chance?

Wow, I've been to Baxter many times so I have a pretty good idea of the difficulty level of what you accomplished while there. It sounds like quite a trip!! Congratulations on both counts, what you did in Baxter, as well as finishing your 115!!!

Procook: There are 7 NY'ers that I know of, d.g., s.c.n., l.n., you two, and us two. Also, Nat from Quebec. And I believe Timmus told me there are more Quebec finishers.

Not going to the W46R Dinner, due to conflict, but maybe the AMC Dinner.
