I parked at 4 corners but those with snow tires or a larger vehicle could easily park off to the side by the Gale River Rd gate. Used snowshoes for traction to the trailhead. Although there was a decent amount of snow along the road the first half mile to mile of the trail had thin coverage and was rather boney. I'd bring both snowshoes and microspikes. The small crossings had solid enough ice bridges. It looked as though a small group had been through after the storm but their tracks were well covered with windblown snow for the most part. As expected there were a few sections of deep snowdrifts to deal with. The wind picked up at higher elevations and was pretty uncomfortable at the summit but worth lingering to watch the great sunset last night.
