date: 3.13.14
trails: boulder loop trail, bay view trail, mt. major trail
conditions: parking well plowed. a couple inches of new snow at the lot. more blown around higher up. trails all had a good base underneath the new and sometimes crusty snow. no exposed ice on any of the ledges though a fair bit on the trees. seems the recent storm was more of a rain event rather than snow this far south.
equipment: snowshoes.
comments: a nice quick afternoon hike up major. cold and windy on the summit. though the mountains to the north were socked in there were great views to the other belknap peaks and to the merrymeeting area and blue hills.
