Date of Hike:4/18
Trail Conditions: Hard packed snow/ice with 1 to 2" of snow on top. Snow from bottom to top. I barebooted from Cog lot to Gem Pool.
Special Equipment Required: Crampons essential, microspikes would be inadequate and potential dangerous in spots. I almost wish I had my ice ax
Comments: Started out as a Mt Washington hike but forecast for wind didnt work out as planned. Snow still drifted up to roof at Lakes. The frozen lumpy snow under the fresh stuff would make for hard sliding without a sled.
