Thanks for posting Tom....I wish I could say I was surprised. Just some food for thought, when one comes in from the woods throw all your clothes in a trash bag and seal it,check your body for ticks and then shower right away. This seems to help me most of the time and you can shake your clothes outside later. Knock on wood no bites yet for me this season,but I have found a couple getting ready to..

Wow. Not good.
I wish I could bring a guinea hen along with me while I hike.
Apparently the jury is still out if these feathered friends do truly control tick populations on their owners land, but the thought of less ticks in my yard makes me sleep better.

Remember when I read this last year and freaked a bit especially given the reported mortality rate. I have not noticed any further research since the initial review.

A good friend has a few horses and has had a chicken coup for a few years. He got the hens for tick control.....it has worked very well; and all his buddies get fresh eggs!!
