did an easy 10 mile loop using the J.B.Hudson tr. (1.6mi) to breakheart trail (3.3mi) to shelter tr (5.1mi) returning the last .5 \mi on the hudson trail. the best map of the area is the arcadia map published by great swamp press which i have seen on-line but is probably available at URE outfitters in richmond or i got mine at the map store in prov. this loop and easily be expanded to 20 mi with a detour to stepstone falls returning by the mt tom trail that ends at appie crossing across the highway from the hudson trailhead. many other loops using arcadia and the pachaug forest in conn can be put together. for one see ken webers ri walks book. trails are very grassy...read lots of ticks and deer fly season is here. when you can't get to nh it is a great place to hike.
