Trail Conditions: The Pemi East Side, Pine Island, Wilderness and Thoreau Falls trails are all in good shape. The Pemi East has recently had a lot of work done to its water bars and drainage troughs. It has some serious washouts but go-arounds are in place. Pine Island is once again open. The Wilderness Trail, as it approaches Stillwater Junction, turns into a relatively close corridor but it's still easily traveled. The only things of note on the Thoreau Falls are a few blowdowns and some small eroded areas.

The Shoal Pond Trail needs some work. The southern portion needs some serious brushing and drainage work. The middle part has a mix of swampy and dry. The upper part, from Shoal Pond up to the Ethan Pond Trail has had quite a bit of drainage work done. Hopefully they'll continue south. As I was hiking north three people armed with loppers and a determined look were heading south. I hope they worked on the southern part where it could really use the attention.
