Trail Conditions: Rapid Stream Rd was passable to the parking lot before the two washed-out bridges in my Honda Accord (with some care). The road itself is not hard to find; my GPS knew about it. The first water crossing was rock-hoppable; the second was mid-thigh deep where I crossed. (I did not spend a lot of time looking for a shallower spot.) The water was running fast enough to get my attention, but I would not call it dangerous.

Special Equipment Required: Trekking poles for crossing Rapid Stream are a good idea. I also brought and used water shoes for the Rapid Stream crossing

Comments: The fire warden's cabin mentioned in the guide is gone and replaced with a pretty sweet campsite. I saw bear sign - a track at the second crossing, and then very fresh scat on the raspberry bush-lined logging road after the crossing. I also ran into a guy from the Nature Conservancy doing an easement assessment. Looks like a nice job.
