August 1 - Loop or Traverse to start the month?, 8/1/2014

Hike: August 1, 2014

It’ll be a new month and I’ll have a new list of targets.

I’m planning to get out for a hike on Friday, August 1

Plan A: Traverse The Twins, Galehead, and Garfield traverse from Haystack Road

Plan B: Loop Cannon, N.E. Cannonball, and The Kinsmans loop from Lafayette Place

Actually, either hike is good with me. My preference is Plan A, but both are on my August list and they’ll both get hiked eventually.

I usually hike a moderate pace of book time or a little more; this won't be a fast-paced hike.

Is anybody interested in getting together for one of these?

The winner for August 1 is the traverse (N. Twin, S. Twin, Galehead, and Garfield).

According to the latest forecast from the National Weather Service, Friday should be a terrific day for the hike. Others have also expressed an interest in the traverse.

We're looking at an on-trail of 7:00am.
