Tram/Gondola into Grand Canyon...sacriledge!? In Switzerland you can take Cable cars, Gondolas, Trains up to MANY peaks or plateaus to hike or to descend or both. Took a Cable car up to the Eiger and then after a very long (but mostly flat hike) a cog railway back down to the village we were staying in. Very different philosophy about being outdoors.
