Auroras were observed as far south as Arizona Thursday night. The second CME, due Fri night, may be stronger.

Unfortunately, the nearly full moon will rise a little after 9pm (in eastern MA), so the best seeing might be just before then.

absolutely some grey streaks (that are not clouds) visible in western ct in a perfectly clear night.

I saw somw grey streaks in Southern NH, hard to tell if they were clouds or not. Closest I got, and checked several times.

Mt. Washington Obs tweeted some great pictures last night.

Clouds blocked my attempts to view the aurora from the NW Boston suburbs.

An 11pm (Friday, 12 Sept) TV news program showed a nice picture from the top of Mt Washington. It might have been this image: http://cbsboston.files.wordpress.com/2014/09/mountwashington.jpg?w=420&h=138

50MHz (6 meter amateur band) noise levels were high (typical of auroras), but I didn't hear any signals bouncing off the aurora. (It is often possible to bounce signals of this frequency range off auroras.)

I was bummed, the clouds visible in the Mt Washington Obs photo blocked my view

No luck last night (Sat, 13 Sept) here (NW Boston suburbs) either even though it was clear to the N at 2am.

Scandinavia appears to be the place to have been...
