Elephant Mountain Road is in good shape, was able to get a car with low clearance the 3 miles in to the parking area. Logging road, old skidder roads and woods very wet but negotiable with decent footing so long as we stayed away from slippery wet roots.

Recommended equipment: for today, rain pants and jacket, extra gloves.

Once on the logging road we went left at both cairns and continued to bear left as we ascended until things got a bit steeper and then it was obvious that we should simply go up. There's a definite herd path to the right of the upper spruce wave (through the spruce). All trees were very wet but we were able to find the paths of least resistance as we went through the spruce. Met 1SlowHiker on his way down.

It never rained but didn't need to; the mist was very thick and our outsides were drenched.
