Small amount of ice once on the plateau and heading towards the summit of Baxter, but very minimal. Minimal ice on knife edge, easily avoided. No special equipment needed.

Fantastic day, in and out of clouds, always with a view to one side or the other, and no wind at all at the summit (apparently this is rare). We met a juvenile bear on the way down, who isn't afraid of humans. He was beautiful, but hopefully he'll learn to be more shy soon, as he was about to enter the trail through some trees and someone was coming down that part of the trail. With some shouting to warn the unsuspecting hiker, the bear did run away.
