Trails: Mount Meader Trail, Basin Rim Trail, Black Angel Trail, Carter-Moriah Trail, Rainbow Trail, Wild River Trail, Eagle Link, Meader Ridge Trail

Trail Condition / Comments: The parking for the Mount Meader Trail is on the side of the road 0.5 miles or so north of the Baldface Loop Trailhead. There's no trailhead, you just park in the grass off the street, look for a small White AMC sign on a telephone pole labeled Mount Maader Trail. Mount Meader and Basin Rim Trails are well blazed and in great shape. Black Angel Trail is in the wilderness so it's not blazed, trail is lightly used and all the foliage leaves are down but it is not tough to follow, it's a great trail to take if you want to get away from the crowds, it passes through some nice birch glades, too. The crossing of the Wild River is a wide one but is rock hopable unless there's been heavy rain. The Rainbow Trail is easy to follow even through it's overgrown in spots, there are blue plastic ski blazes on some of the birch trees. This trail passes through one of the finest Birch glades in the Whites! Wild River is muddy and wet in spots, with old rotted bog bridges. The trail passes by the Perkins Notch tentsite, trail stays to the left of the site. Water crossings are small and easy, there is one spot on the trail where it looks like it makes a tiny crossing at the river, it doesn't, the trail is just eroded, stay on the banks to the left of the river for a hundred feet or so and the trail then heads left away from the river. Eagle Link is in great shape and well blazed. Meader Ridge is in perfect shape, too. For those looking to get away from it all, parts of these trails are very lightly used and beautiful, lots of places to camp and plenty of water along the Wild River Trail, great spot for dogs, too! A fun all day affair with Whitney, Denise, Heather&Kali Report / Pictures
