Went up Skookumchuck, across the ridge to the summit of Lafayette, and down Old Bridle Path. Trails up to about 2,500' were clear of snow and ice, but muddy in places. From 2,500 to the ridge on Skookumchuck there was a trace of snow, and no ice. About 100 yards before the ridge we encountered some glaze ice on the rocks and rime ice in the trees. Here we put on Microspikes to aid with traction. All along the ridge and about halfway from the summit to the hut there was about 1" of snow and a glaze of ice on all the rocks. Microspikes very helpful here. Temp was 25 degrees with 30 mph wind, and spitting snow. Hut crew was packing up for the year. Below the hut the trail was clear.
