Mt. Morgan trail dry with a few wet spots (one mile in, and just below the summit). Muddy/puddly wet in the col between the two mountains; water crossings not an issue (there's only one really, on the Mt. Percival trail). Thick layers of dry leaves required cautious descending on the steeps.

No special equipment needed.

Yellow jackets inhabit the viewpoint just above the ladders on Mt. Morgan trail. They were annoying enough to cut our lunch short.

All trails are well signed and blazed. Trails intercept a network of old roads and can lead you astray if you're not paying attention. We kept our eyes out for the next yellow blaze and trees lying in the path. Most of the time these trees blocked a road or path that may have looked like the obvious next steps - a sign that the trail went up, or right and not straight. This is particularly tricky with the lush bed of leaves and the open woods, making the entire forest floor look the same.
