Trails: Sawyer River Trail, Hancock Notch Trail, Logging Road

Trail Conditions:
Sawyer River Trail to the junction with Hancock Notch Trail is in decent shape, it's muddy in spots and has a small reroute. You can also stay left and take the logging road to the junction of the Hancock Notch Trail, it's dry and has some decent and different views of Mount Carrigain. I took the Hancock Notch Trail, five miles to the Cedar Brook Trail Junction. The first two miles is in good to ok shape, the first set of water crossings are ok, a little sandy in the middle where the trail is obscure but just head straight through and you'll find the trail on the other side, it's rock hopable. The next big water crossing and the trail next to the river are eroded and washed out, there is flagging to help lead the way. after this crossing the trail becomes a wet muddy mess, then becomes narrow, then overgrown. The trail is obscure and on the harder end to follow at times, just pay attention and you'll make your way through some minor tricky to follow twists and turns. There is small flagging here and there and a faded blaze or two along the way to help out. The trail at one point, when it's along a side hill before reaching Hancock Notch is basically overtaken by pine branches for 0.2 miles, enjoy!

Comments: If you want solitude head to this part of the Hancock Notch Trail, there is also an old RR camp towards the eastern terminus of the trail which is pretty cool to check out! This was a fun, quick afternoon adventure to Hancock Notch, can't wait to head back and do more exploring! Report and Pictures
