"Use it or lose it" is my employer's policy w/regard to vacation days. Also good words to live by... although in my case, at age 54, "Use it and lose it" might be more apropos. =)

Anyway, I'm using up some leftover 2014 vacation time. And Friday 11/14 was a great day to not be at work.

A bit of fresh snow the night before. "Dynamic" weather after the snow cleared out - mixed sun and clouds, cool, breezy, some drifting at higher elevations, with numerous explosions of spindrift as snow fell from the trees - a great day for landscape photography.

Trail conditions: at lower elevations, there was just enough snow to cover slick leaves and wet roots, which made the going slower. I didn't put on microspikes until I reached S. Baldface - should have done so sooner. Deeper snow up high, not much thick ice, but you'll still want traction.

I saw two other hikers all day.
