Mount Jackson via Webster-Jackson Loop
Trail Conditions: trails are in transition. Well beaten track was a mix of snow, rock, and mostly uneven terrain still.
Special Equipment Required: microspikes from the loop junction for the rest of the day. Not enough snow to warrant snowshoes. Usual cold weather gear at this point and two headlamps just because. I read 3F in Randolph in the morning although by the afternoon it was a perfect day. Full winter conditions are here.
Comments: an absolutely stellar day with indigo skies and bright white snow-covered trees along the route. Gray jays were in full force as always. Nice running into my friend Dan on the trail.
