Parking at the winter lot was fine. Sawyer river rd was barebootable. Variable conditions on the hike itself. Super firm snow down low - microspikes would have been fine but I wore snowshoes for the whole hike. Around the long side hill traverse lots of leaners over the trail, encased in ice. Shortly after the end of the traverse leaners weren't as issue (only 1 small blowdown). Signal ridge was a hard crust and the wind was howling tonight as I zipped across. Back in the woods it was mostly windblown powder to the summit. Only a couple tracks in front of me today so this trail will need more snowshoe activity to pack down the trail at middle and upper elevations.
