Hiked a few of the small trails in the Randolph Hill area then headed up Mt. Crescent Trail, leaving from the new parking area at the end of Randolph Hill Rd. Hiked the new trail, creatively named "New Trail" :), that connects the parking area with the Mt. Crescent Trail and Cook Path. (Apparently you can still hike in from the original Mt. Crescent/Cook Path trailhead on Randolph Hill Rd, you just can't park there.)

There was a single track up Mt. Crescent: deep showshoe holes now frozen into the crust. Hard to do anything except follow in the footsteps. The crust held about 3/4 of my weight before caving. Deep snow on the summit ... I'd estimate 20-24". A moose did some serious post-holing up there. LOTS of small trees leaning into the trail, from both sides, requiring a great deal of banging with poles to clear a path.

Northern NH: 70.3% trails, 77.2% miles
