I needed to get out, and this was on my bucket list. Started at the Recreation Area on the west shore of Tully Lake. Never found the right turn into the woods off Royalston Road, but yellow blazes continued to Mtn Road, where the forest trail commenced. (Later research confirmed that that trail section is closed. Views from the ledges near Tully Mtn summit are terrific. Monadnock to the north, the entire Wapack range to the northeast, and Wachusettt to the east. Met one person there, the only hiker I'd see. Continued north, where blue and red blazing made for some confusion. The trail turns south on a forest road with recent logging activity, then joins Tully Road (Warwick Road on Trustees map). There I turned around. Eight miles total, about 1/3 on a real trail, but no regrets.
