Hi to All

Yesterday, Wednesday, Jan 21, 2015, Ed Hawkins
( Me ) completed his "5th GRId" of the NH 48.

I have now hiked the "48" NH four thousand footers
"FIVE TIMES" in "Every Calendar Month".

( 12 X 48 = 576 ) X 5 = 2,880

On this day, I completed my "5th GRID", on the summit of
Mt. Jefferson. On an out & back hike from the lower Cog
parking lot. Via the Jewell, Gulfside, & Jefferson Loop trails.

I was joined on this day by long time hiking friend Guy Jubinville.

It was a "Top Ten" day above tree-line. No wind, blue sky,
unlimited visability, mild temps in teens & 20's Snowshoes
start to finish. Guy & I put down first tracks on most recent
new snow.

My thanks to all who have joined me, along the way,
on so many hikes.

THANKS & TAKE CARE

ED

Congratulations to Hiker Ed! You are such an inspiration to others. Thanks for all the hikes you led with the AMC back in 2002-03 that I was able to join you on. I think that may have been your first round of the grid?

Wow that is fantastic. Good for you Ed. You inspire so many with every peak you bag!

Back when I was a newly-minted AMC leader, I frequently hiked with Ed, and Ed was always so supportive of my striving to be a leader who offered safe and enjoyable hikes. Ed loves hiking, and he brings that enthusiasm to those far less senior who feel the same way he does. I've always appreciated Ed's support and encouragement.

Ed has been generous with his encouragement of my hiking endeavors... and I too, offer Ed my heartfelt congratulations!
