Trail Conditions: parking load and trail are both in really good conditions only an occasional post hole. Nicely packed down snow not slick enough for butt sliding, was a fair amount of ice above tree level, but no problem. Saw lots of skiers and dogs in addition to hikers.
Special Equipment: full winter gear needed above tree line due to wind. The temp at the start was -8 but warmed up and was 19 when we finished. We used snowshoes the entire way and never thought about any more aggressive traction.
Comments: wonderful day in the mountains, we beat the snow and had nice views at the top. Thanks to Larry and Anne for organizing.
