Very hard pack with 1/2 inch powder until 2800 ft, then softer.
Bare booters with poles kick stepped up the stairs and steeper sections. I used snowshoes to work with the drifts.
Bare bootable to Franconia Ridge/Flume Slide. The solar melt makes things very interesting near the slide. I would have poles and/or microspikes or exercise caution finishing the last steps to the summit.
