Can anyone tell me the conditions on Mount Monadnock. We are planning to hike this coming weekend 03-21-15 and I'm concerned about post-holes and trail conditions given a couple of warm days. Thanks!

Depends on your route, but I can say that White Arrow is a frozen postholed mess with awkward footing. The scramble just before the first ledges is also back to exposed ice, where folks have bushwhacked around it. The summit is pretty much free of snow, having been scoured by wind and also the thaw. I carried snowshoes just in case, but they wouldn't have really helped on the frozen trail. I ended up staying in spikes all day.

Main trail from HQ - White Dot - is packed and mushy, but in good shape. I descended White Cross on Monday and it was posthole city - really obnoxious. A layer of ice on the summit, making spikes necessary there.
