In case this hasn't been posted here already - some amazing aerial footage from the Himalayas:

The aerial cinema experts at Teton Gravity Research release the first ultra HD footage of the Himalayas shot from above 20,000 ft. with the GSS C520 system, the most advanced gyro-stabilized camera system in the world. Filmed from a helicopter with a crew flying from Kathmandu at 4,600 ft. up to 24,000 ft. on supplemental oxygen, these are some of the most stable, crisp, clear aerial shots of these mountains ever released, which include Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, and Lhotse.

Nice footage and a great link Tim. Must have been spawned from the original Panomizer 5000.

Thanks, great link, stll hope to get at least in the neighborhood someday. Not to hijack but does anyone know the status of climbing teams this year in light of last year's tragedy?

You may have heard this, Mike, but news reports a couple weeks ago indicated that two major adjustments have been made with respect to the "standard" Nepalese route through the Khumbu Icefall: 1) helicopters will pack all supplies needed above base camp to the first camp above the ice fall to reduce the dangers to sherpas from having to traverse it multiple times packing supplies, and 2) the route through the icefall will move toward the center of the glacier rather than hugging leftward on the ascent, in hopes of reducing risks posed by icefall from the flank of Everest left of the glacier on ascent.

I haven't heard much about parties' and guide companies' ascent plans, others here may have. I'd bet it will be an active season, for better or worse, hopefully for better.
