Trails: Nineteen Mile Brook Trail, Great Gulf Trail, Madison Gulf Trail, Gulfside Trail, Westside Trail, Crawford Path, Webster-Cliff Trail, Mizpah Cutoff, Avalon Trail, A-Z Trail, Zealand Trail, Twinway, Garfield Ridge Trail, Greenleaf Trail, Old Bridle Path, Lonesome Lake Trail.

Trail Conditions: Nineteen-Mile Brook Trail has some muddy/wet sections, it seems like it stays 'wetter' more in the usual spots every year but maybe that's just me. Brooks are crossed over a footbridge or wooden planks. Great Gulf is in excellent shape. Madison Gulf Trail is the only trail with any issue, the crossing where the Parapet Brook has two channels that merge into one, you only cross half of it, there is a small cairn on a boulder, at this cairn the trail heads into the woods between the two brooks for a short section, all other crossing where easy and there small cairns to lead the way. Gulfside, Westside, Crawford Path all in excellent condition and well marked with cairns, except for the Eisenhower/Pierce col, there is one nasty mud pit in need of a bog bridge, the standing water and mud is growing and you sink in if not careful. Webster-Cliff Trail is a little slippery and rough just above the hut, even the wooden planks are slippery. Mizpah Cutoff is fine. The rest of the trails from Avalon through to Lonesome Lake are in great shape, not one blowdown!

Comments: Pretty spectacular day traveling the huts, great views along the way. There were hikers out everywhere, most I had ever seen. Scott Jurek (attempthing a A.T. supported speed record) was at Zealand Falls Hut at 1:30 p.m. It was great to run into familiar faces Bob and his two dogs doing a Pemi Loop, Kara doing a Pemi Backpack, and finally meeting FB friends - Rob in the Southern Presi's, and Ed along the Garfield Ridge Trail.
