Marston trail wet, streams swollen. First part of the Mt. Coe trail is narrow and thick with spruce; very wet going through. South Brother rock scrambles were slippery, which made for slow going. The rest of the Mt. Coe trail has a few small blow downs, easily negotiated over and around.

No special equipment needed.

Another wet day but thankfully, this one ended with clearing skies and warmer temps. No views on S. Brother, clouds were thick and it was raining. Mt. Coe, however was partially clear when we arrived. Days of rain cancelled our plans to do this hike up the Coe slide, a smart choice after talking with the 7 people who went that way that morning. Hiking the back way was longer (11.2 miles) and the last thing we wanted to do was go back up Marston given the condition of the trail (a significant reroute past the pond is muddy and annoying) but we made good use of the day, such as it was. http://summithikinginnewengland.blogspot.com/2015/07/99-100-south-brother-and-mt-coe-july-25.html
