My 2 cents... I bought Asolo 520 GV's Triple Structure years ago....still going strong and I'm not a light weight....bought another pair in case they ever dropped the style... I have a pair of Fugitives for kicking around light light hikes while traveling the USA. But if I'm serious I take the 520's ...also the most comfortable pair right out of the box ...that's why I bought them... At $300 they are worth every penny.

I've given up on heavy boots for 3 season hiking and have moved to lightweight hikers too for all the reasons you describe. I trash them on the trail and move them to yardwork status and then chuck 'em.

I was on the waiting list for custom Limmers when I made the switch to trail runners, and have too never looked back. I use the same exact system as you do, best ones for hiking, 2nd best for local (low consequence, high mud) trail running, 3rd best for yard/trail work.
