Iron Mountain and Southern Cliffs in Jackson via the Iron Mountain Trail
Trail is in decent condition and easy enough to follow. It is however severely eroded on the steep ascent and we were not able to find the turnoff to the mines on the south side, which is not signed. WMG is a bit ambiguous about where the trail starts, but you'll know it when you see.
Nice Father's Day Hike with my dad up this small Jackson Mountain. We have Nordic skied in Jackson for years, and skied the Hall trail more times than you can count, but never noticed the small road that diverges up from the beginning of that trail. JXC should totally groom this forest road, it would be an amazing descent. the best views on the hike come of Mt. Washington from the Hayes farm right at the beginning. It is a beautiful but little used trail, and we didn't see anyone in the two hours we were out there - enjoy!
