I wanted to get to the trailhead early to beat the holiday weekend crowds, I got to Waterville Valley just before 7:30am, which was definitely early enough as there were only two cars in lot #1 when I pulled in. Thunderstorms the night before left the trail wet and a little muddy. The clouds from the rain the night before were still hanging around while I was heading up and the summit was in the clouds, but there were still some views from slopes as I headed up. There were also some nice cascades from the runoff toward the bottom on Tecumseh brook. I was alone all the way up and had the summit to myself, but on my way down the weekend crowds were headed up, I saw about 20-25 people going up and the lot was MUCH more full. All in all it was a pretty good, easy hike. I enjoyed as I do all my hikes.
