redstone quarry, redstone, nh 9 8 2016

Redstone quarry. checked out on 9 8 2016. This is short .6 mile walk in the woods, one way, to an old quarry that is now an archeological site. Lots of old machinery and buildings to view. Please enjoy and just take pictures and memories away with you. This is a great little side trip that will show you some of the history of N.H. as it was a century ago. To access, we parked on the left back side of Wall Mart in North Conway. Follow the power line for about 400 yards. While you are on the power line, you can see the quarry cuts on the side of the hill in front of you. When the power line turns left, we went straight following a wide path. The wide path eventually swings left and will bring you to the carpenters shop building. From there you will find rail tracks that will bring you to the green quarry.
