Sunshine makes all the difference. Had reports (and saw photos) from Friday of lots of rime up top, with verglas on the boardwalks near the Nose even in late afternoon. But Saturday midmorning we found almost no rime, and almost no ice. Trails were almost completely dry. Did find some ice on the floor of the ladder cave on the Subway trail, but even that was melted enough allow us to step around it.
If you want to take the toll road, get there early. Upper parking lots full way beyond capacity by early afternoon, and the entrance driveway overflowing onto the highway.
Foliage report: PEAK right now from Burlington Vt to Manchester Nh.
