The GF and I planned on maybe hiking the Crawford path up to Pierce or Eisenhower, possibly stopping at Mizpah Spring Hut to check it out. Then, I looked at the Higher summit forecast. 100 mph gusts is not something I think we would enjoy. Now our sights are set on a just a day trip to enjoy the other trails in the area...that won't be so potentially deadly. I like to think its being prudent not suffering from summit fever. We bailed on bagging Carter Dome last weekend because we awoke at Perkins Notch to blowing snow and decided to not bag that peak, that day, either. I keep telling myself the mountains will still be there on a nicer day, they aren't going anywhere.

Oh well, a week spent dreaming of the Southern Presidentials is all for naught.

Nahhh,

Just look at it as paying some well-deserved summit dues. Plus, you got a cozy snowy night in Perkins Notch. How cool is that?
