Trail Conditions: There was snow from the parking lot all the way over to Osceola. We bare booted until the trail got steep, and then put on microspikes. Would have been very hard without them, and indeed we encountered folks who turned around because they didn't have them. There was snow, hard packed snow, icy in spots, but the trail itself was very well-maintained.
Special Equipment Required: Microspikes and hiking poles. I went out in just my regular old leather boots. Interestingly, we then drove over the Kanc to Moat for dinner, and saw virtually no snow at all on the Kanc once we got up past the Hancock's hairpin!
Went out with HikesWithKat and my friend Joseph G.
