A new game for the Mac had dropped on Dec 15, 2016, and is an "editor's choice." The player is working in a firewatch tower in Wyoming. If anyone plays it, please give a review.

The trailer looks very intriguing!

From their website:

Firewatch is a mystery set in the Wyoming wilderness, where your only emotional lifeline is the person on the other end of a handheld radio.

The year is 1989.

You are a man named Henry who has retreated from your messy life to work as a fire lookout in the Wyoming wilderness. Perched atop a mountain, it's your job to find smoke and keep the wilderness safe.

An especially hot, dry summer has everyone on edge. Your supervisor, a woman named Delilah, is available to you

at all times over a small, handheld radio—and is your only contact with the world you've left behind.

But when something strange draws you out of your lookout tower and into the world below, you'll explore a wild and unknown environment, facing questions and making interpersonal choices that can build or destroy the only meaningful relationship you have.

I can't speak for Mac, but I played this on PS4 a few months ago and really liked the game. It starts with a bit of an emotional background of the main character, but after that you get put into the park and it begins. The map is really large and it can take time getting around without much to do between the mission destinations and having to go back and forth through the same areas can get tiring, but the the changing terrain and graphics make it fun to hike around. You'll definitely need to use the map and compass a lot and even with that you can still get a little lost. As the game plays out you start to uncover things and it begins to turn into a mystery which is really cool, but some of the stuff that you uncover or do in the game doesn't really lead up to anything. I didn't think the ending was all that great and it didn't answer a lot of questions either. But overall, the game is really fun, especially for hikers or people who enjoy the outdoors, and it can be completed in probably less than 10 hours (maybe even less than 5 hours) so you don't need to dedicate a lot of time to get through it.
