Webster Slide Mountain 1/7/16
Solo hike/OAB from the north via the A.T. and spur trail. Snowbase <6", crusty. Found the trail beaten out with shallow postholes, choppy footing. A few minor icy spots on the spur. Snowshoes didn't seem to be doing much for me or the trail so I switched to light traction partway in & stayed that way. Two walk-under blowdowns on Wyatt Hill, a busted bog bridge. A.T. parking pullout was plowed out. Caught the view from the summit end of the spur but did not venture too far down on the dangerously icy ledges. Saw no other hikers.
