Trail up Crawford was snow free except on little spot but easy enough to get through. the closer we got to Stairs, the more snow, water, postholing occurred. It was a long walk over. At the junction of Resolution, we put on snowshoes as the snow was a lot deeper. But then there would be patches of no snow...It was on and off with the snowshoes which was a pain but postholing so much was tiring. After Parker the snow lessened but was taken over by slippery leaves. We were careful not to get caught by something under the leaves we could not see. Beautiful hike. Long day.

We didn't want to carry snowshoes but they definitely helped. No bugs.
