Caribou Valley/Pond Road

Hey folks,

Does anyone know if the Caribou Valley Road is drivable to the AT crossing where trail up the South Crocker starts?

I've heard differing opinions about a gate being open / closed.

I can't help you with the gate, but reports of the last few years have been consistent that road conditions are only driveable to the "steel bridge" a mile or two before the crossing.

As of Thursday, there was a large tree blocking the road 0.6 mi. in, according to an NETC report. No idea if it's still there.

Yup, tree is still there, but you can drive around it.

A locked gate exists about 1/2 mile before AT crossing. The road beyond the gate has really grown in.

Anyone know who owns or manages this gate? (There is Weyerhauser sign on the right about 2 miles in.)
