Questions on roads that close in Winter:

Gale River Loop Road: How far is the ski-in to the Garfield and Gale River Trailheads?
Haystack Road: How far is the ski in to the North Twin Trail?
Zealand Road: How far do they plow it? How far a ski into the Hale Brook Trail?
York Pond Road, off Route 110, to the Berlin Fish Hatchery; How far a ski in to the Unknown Pond and Bunnell Notch Trails.
Thanks.

Gale River Loop Road: How far is the ski-in to the Garfield and Gale River Trailheads?
Garfield adds 1.2 miles / 300' each way, so 10 miles/3000' in summer becomes 12.4, 3300' in winter. Galehead is usually done from Beaver Brook Ski Area, following a ski trail to a campsite on Gale River Road, and then walking the road to the summer trailhead.

Haystack Road: How far is the ski in to the North Twin Trail?
Most people go via the old North Twin Trail at the end of Little River Road. This is where the Seven Dwarfs is and there is a sign on Route 3 in Twin Mountain. Haystack Road is roughly 2.5-3 mi.

Zealand Road: How far do they plow it? How far a ski into the Hale Brook Trail?
They don't. You walk from the Zealand winter parking. About .25 miles along 302, and then another 2.5ish miles, so 2.75ish total. Most people do Hale from the old North Twin Trail at the end of Little River Road and then use the "abandoned" Fire Warden's Trail.

York Pond Road, off Route 110, to the Berlin Fish Hatchery; How far a ski in to the Unknown Pond and Bunnell Notch Trails.
York Pond Road is usually plowed all the way to the trailhead lots.

I have GPS tracks for most of these, if you'd like them.

Little River Road...Past Haystack Road maybe 1.5 miles and Little River Road goes due south off Route 3?
