My wife and I thinking about hiking up Mt. Cardigan this Friday via the West Ridge Trail. Has anybody been to the summit recently and (hopefully) confirm that there's no snow or ice there yet?

I'd bring traction (microspikes, etc) and a few extra layers. Summit tends to be cold and windy, 'specially at this time of year.

Also note that the west ridge trail in particular tends to be wet and develops a lot of thick ice in several places, not just up top. Probably not a major concern this early, but once the days stay below freezing in the valley, bring full crampons for this route or expect to spend some time on detours looking for trees to hold on to.
