Several winters ago myself and two others completed a traverse of the entire range, from Star King to South Pond. 1st night was atop Cabot, the 2nd night was just below The Horn. Great trip, lots of map and compass, few blazes. The three of us easily completed the section you referenced on...
Sumitted in January of 2004 via the ID. The summit attempt culminated a weeks training with RMI during their Winter Mountaineering course. Was very fortunante to sumit and to follow the legend George Dunn the entire day. The ID in January was much easier than the DC in May, weather and avy...
We have cut our Christmas tree from the WMNF (with permit) for the last 9 years. Can't imagine doing it any other way. We look for trees throughout our hiking trips and have carried a tree more than a mile from the trailhead. As una dogger mentioned, these are somewhat Charlie Brownish but...
My wife and I spent our honeymoon at one of the cabins at the base (to the north on Antelope Flats Road) of Blacktail Butte. Absolutly beautiful, bison roaming, Tetons in the background. The owners have a trail up from the cabins.

Here is what I've been using the last few years...
Thanks guys,
Sitting in camp starring up at Mt. Huntington would have made the trip in and of itself.
AOC-1, there was two sections of the climb were we climbed up through a trough of snow five feet high. I can't imangine the effort the previous team exteneded to dig through the snow to reach...
Peak 11,300 has been a long sought after objective of mine. A culmination of climbs that began in 2004.
I climbed with Kevin Mahoney http://www.newhampshireiceclimbing.com through Alaska Mountaineering School http://www.climbalaska.org/shop.html. Kevin is a NH guide located in Madison, NH. I...
