According to the MVUMs, most USFS roads aren't "supposed" to be open until 5/15. Some not until 5/25, 6/1, or 6/15. I feel like those dates are treated as more of a suggestion, though.

I observed the same thing at Blue Hills.

Love the Wapack. The trail between Watatic and North Pack is not anything close to the Watatic approach as far as people and trail conditions go. Don't skip the side quests to Kidder or the Cliff Trail on North Pack.

Someone only made it about 100 yards up the Oliverian Brook parking lot before turning around on snowshoes. By the end of the day, snowballing was becoming a problem with a crust forming on top. Whoever gets to break trail is going to have their work cut out for them.

We got to camp Friday night and got to enjoy being dumped on. Got about 2 feet in the Sandwich Range. Powder shoes are a must. It took 6 hours to do the 2 mile hike out of the woods on 22" shoes.

Neither. It's to replace two culverts between the washout and the trailhead bridge with a new bridge. There are several SRR projects on the list but it's unclear to me what, if anything, has been completed. This is the project for the trailhead bridge.
