PB Magazine
It's already in the Recycle Bin...
The magazine has gotten worse and worse,
since when is kayaking and canoeing considered
to be "backpacking?"
Follow up...
We snowshoed in and changed to crampons for the final push up
Marcy and back to snowshoes for the descent. Went bare boots
at the dam as the conditions warranted. NO postholing at all as
the track was solid. I jumped up and down (with pack +, 250 pounds?)
and NO holes!
This...
Just fishing for opinions...
Trail from the Loj to Marcy Dam on 1/29/05 had
MAYBE 4-5 inches of well packed snow, no way
one could post hole. In fact, snowshoe cleats
made deeper impression than boots! Is it wrong
to bare boot in such snow??
Gear Stashing
I personally never feel comfortable stashing gear, figure I carry
it all for a reason. I've only stashed my stupid trekking poles
'cause they got it the way while I was falling into spruce traps
on Santanoni... :p
RE: Trekking Poles
I have them put find that they often get in to way.
Lots of times I think about where to put the poles
and forget about my feet! :0)
Have Three Left...
I am interested! I still have Couch, Allen and Seward left to finish (finally!) my first round. Don't care if they are in Winter or Summer!!
While hiking up Treadway Mountain in NY a few summers ago, we came around a bend only to find a young woman naked from the waist down doing her "business" right in the middle of the trail!
