Liberty via Liberty Springs and lost camera

Came in from Whitehorse, minimal mud, no blow downs, and river crossings are no problem. Nice and smooth from bike bath to summit. Trail is in great shape just remember to tank up at water crossing. Also, left my camera in the parking lot :(. I Appreciate any help in it's return. Thanks!

    Mt Hale 11/18/06 and #48!!!

The summit may be the goal but it’s the people you meet along your journey that make each trip unique each and of itself. We started out from my house about 6:30 AM. I was so excited about this one that I was surprised I had slept at all the night before. Usually an early morning start means...

Mt Moosilauke via Beaver Brook 6/4/05

We had too many weekends of rain so it was really nice to have the weather gods show us some favoritism. The Beaver Brook trail starts out nice and level with 2 quick stream crossings. Even with all the rain, these were no problem. About the ¼ mile mark the ascent starts and pretty much stays...

    Tuckerman's Ravine 4/30/05

April 30, 2005 After several weeks of watching everyone else on VFTT having fun at Tuckerman’s with the last remnants of snow in NE, we decided that we had to get there just so we could use our winter gear one last time. Also like a lot of folks on Views, we are planning on heading out west...

Waterproof map paper for topo mapping

I just purchased some of the National Geographic waterproof map paper and wanted to share my experience with everyone. I couldn't find a previous link so I apologize if a review was done previously. There are currently 3 brands out there, 2 for ink jet printers (1 of which I used) and 1 for...

    After hike shoes

Looking for some suggestions here. I have an 8 day backpacking trip coming up this summer. I usually would wear my boots the entire time (ok, not when I'm sleeping), but now I'm thinking of bringing a pair of "comfy shoes" to wear around the campsite. I'd need them to be light, compact, and...

    Dinner Time!!!!!

Hi everyone, Slow day at work, so I figure I'd start a thread and get some opinions on something we all like....FOOD! I've been down the freeze dried route and tried all the brands etc. I was wondering if anyone have any decent dinner time backcountry suggestions that aren't posted in...

    Mt. Isolation - 2/12/05

In an attempt to celebrate Charlie Brown's (Paula's) 48th, 8 hearty souls started the long trek from the Rocky Branch at 8 AM on Saturday Febraury 12, 2005 to attempt a winter summit of Mt. Isolation I will tell you up front, we didn't make it, but it didn't dampen the spirit of the day at all...

    Trango Crampons

My hiking partner is considering doing some winter hiking with me and is looking at purchasing Trango crampons. I have never heard of this brand (I do know they make hiking shoes...not boots) and I can not find any information other than their own hype. Does anyone have any opinions on this...
